What’s Included in This Resource?

This pack is designed for versatility and easy prep. You get:

  • Circle Version: The classic round card style for an authentic feel.
  • Square Version: Easy-cut squares for teachers who want to save time at the paper cutter!
  • 3 Ways to Play!

Keep your small groups or centers exciting by switching up the rules. Here are the fan-favorite ways to play:

Game 1: The Tower (The Most Popular!)

Goal: Collect the most cards.

  • Setup: Give each student one card face down. Place the rest of the deck face up in a stack (The Tower).
  • Play: On "three," everyone flips their card. Find the match between your card and the top of the Tower.
  • The Match: Shout the image name and grab the card. That card now becomes your new top card to match from!
  • Winner: The player with the tallest stack at the end wins.

Game 2: The Hot Potato (Fast & Silly)

Goal: Get rid of your cards as fast as possible.

  • Setup: Deal the entire deck face down to the students.
  • Play: Everyone flips their top card into their palm simultaneously.
  • The Match: Find a match between your card and any other player’s card.
  • Pass it On: Shout the image and place your card on top of your friend's card. They are now "stuck" with it until they find a new match!
  • Winner: The first person with an empty hand wins.

Game 3: The Well (Perfect for Small Groups)

Goal: Be the first to empty your personal stack.

  • Setup: Place one card face up in the center. Deal the rest evenly among players.
  • Play: Players flip their top card and race to find the match against the center card.
  • Winner: Shout the image, drop your card in the center (it's now the new target!), and try to be the first to run out of cards.
